
They Senate, yesterday stopped the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from going ahead with the planned demolition of 37 residential estates in Abuja said to be acquired illegally pending the completions of its investigation.
The demolition exercise, which was intensified in the last couple of weeks, had claimed hundreds of residential homes, many of them under construction, at the capital city.
The Senate’s order was handed down through its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Committee chaired by Senator Smart Adeyemi. (Source: The Sun)
